Born in Quebec City, Quebec on July 22, 1998, Alicia Moffet is a Canadian singer who got her start after winning the 2013 season of Canadian reality competition show The Next Star. That same year, she launched her own debut single, "Better Watch Out for Me," live during The Next Star, which was released in September 2013, with the rising star also releasing a collaborative team single, "We Just Don't Care," that same month with the show's other contestants. Winning The Next Star led to a signing with Sony Music Canada, who gave Alicia Moffet the opportunity to record a single, "Why Do Boys Lie" (Pourquoi Mentir), which was released in 2014. She ushered in 2015 with an appearance on La Voix (Canada). A triplet of singles later arrived in 2019, "Take Control," "Open Up," "Beautiful Scar," and the following year she unleashed her debut album, Billie Ave, which was named after her daughter Billie Lou Mentink, who was born on July 20, 2019. The LP featured songwriting credits from various other artists, including Milk & Bone and Jonathan Roy. An acoustic-led companion EP, Billie Ave. (Unplugged), was released in 2021 and Alicia Moffet entered 2022 with a soulful new single, "Lullaby," which was released in January that year.
