Maes

Born in Villepinte (Seine-Saint-Denis) on January 10, 1995, Walid Georgey, aka Maes (short for Maestro), grew up in the same department in Sevran, and began rapping at the age of fourteen. It was during a short incarceration between 2016 and 2017 that he matured his artistic project with the mixtape Réelle Vie. Returning to civilian life, Maes released his second mixtape, Réelle Vie 2.0 (ranked #65) in 2018, and was spotted and signed by a subsidiary of Capitol Music France. Released in July 2018, the single "Billets verts" brings Maes his first public success (No. 10). Filmed in Bogota, Colombia, with Booba, the video for "Madrina" helped the track gain recognition and reach No. 1 in the French charts. The album Pure, released in November 2018 and ranked #5, was certified gold shortly afterwards. Maes then worked on his second album Les Derniers Salopards (2020), which topped the charts, with all fourteen singles entering the French charts. It includes collaborations with Booba, Ninho and Jul. In 2021, he released his third mixtape, Réelle Vie 3.0, which reached No. 4 in France and Belgium, thanks in particular to the duet with Booba, "Platine o Plomo", which reached No. 34 in Belgium and No. 47 in Switzerland. He returned in 2023 with the album Omerta, promoted by the title track, which featured contributions from Gazo, Koba LaD, Niska, Morad, Gims and Kayna Samet. The following year, Maes developed LVC (which stands for La Vie Continue) , featuring duets with Ninho, PLK and Werenoi. The album was preceded by the EPs En Attendant LVC and En Attendant LVC2 . The latter, featuring ten tracks, reached number 19 in the French charts.
