Born on August 1, 1995, in Kalanwali, India, Minander Buttar is a Punjabi singer and songwriter whose songs have been streamed hundreds of millions of times on social media. From his humble beginnings cleaning utensils in a hotel kitchen, success came quickly to him. Minander Buttar’s’ 2012 debut single “Naaran Te Sarkaran” was a success, quickly earning well over 100,000 streams on social media. In 2014, he released the single “Yaari” – which was voted Most Popular Song at the PTC Punjabi Music Awards - and had his song “Dil Nu” featured in the film Oh My Pyo Ji. He achieved his greatest success to date with his 2018 single “Sakhiyaan”, which went to Number 1 on the Punjabi Singles chart and spent a considerable amount of time in that position. The song has been streamed more than a half-billion times across all social media platforms. Over the course of his career, Minander Buttar collaborated with artists such as MixSingh, Raftaar, Gall Goriye and Ammy Virk. Minander Buttar released his debut album, #Jugni, in 2021. In August of the same year, his song “Sakhiyan 2.0” was featured in the film Bell Bottom.
