Bassoonist with Les Arts Florissants, Marc Minkowski gained international renown as conductor of Les Musiciens du Louvre, which he founded in 1982 at the age of nineteen. A self-taught prodigy, he is interested in all types of repertoire, from Baroque to operetta, Romantic to modern. Some of his landmark works include his 1988 Lully-Molière , Bach's Mass in B minor and Passions , and Haydn's London Symphonies . Since 2008, he has conducted the Sinfonia Varsovia.
