German composer Marc Streitenfeld began working as an assistant to the great Hans Zimmer in 1995. In this capacity, he worked on such productions as Rangoon (1995), The Peacemaker (1997) and The Red Line (1998). His meeting with Ridley Scott in 2000 for Gladiator proved decisive. In fact, while maintaining his collaboration with Hans Zimmer, Marc Streitenfeld became increasingly important on Ridley Scott's films. Hannibal (2001), Downfall of the Black Hawk (2002) and Kingdom of Heaven (2005) saw the two men deepen their partnership. Marc Streitenfeld takes charge of the musical scores for Ridley Scott's films, starting with A Big Year in 2006. This was followed by American Gangster (2007), Lies of State (2008), Robin Hood (2010), and the space-mystical masterpiece Prometheus in 2012. In 2015, Marc Streitenfeld was entrusted with the music for the remake of Poltergeist.
