Inspired by her early exposure to music in school and church, she began playing guitar at age 10 and composing songs by 15. Her career took off in 2021 with her debut album Piseiro Sofrência, featuring the viral hit "Não, Não Vou," which reached number 1 on the Brazilian streaming charts and gained international traction. She followed up with collaborations like "Parada Louca" with Marcynho Sensação and "Eu Gosto Assim" with Gustavo Mioto, solidifying her place in the Brazilian music scene. Known for blending sertanejo and forró influences, Mari Frenandez has released standout projects like Ao Vivo em Fortaleza (2022) and Mari Fernandez Ao Vivo em São Paulo (2023), collaborating with major artists like Luísa Sonza and Wesley Safadão. In 2024, she signed a record-breaking deal with Som Livre, releasing the EP Mari no Barzinho (Ao Vivo no RJ), showcasing her versatility across piseiro, pagode, and funk.
