Maria Rita

Maria Rita is a Brazilian singer in the Musica Popular Brasileira (MPB) style who has achieved international fame with a long list of albums and acclaim as a performer at venues and festivals around the world. Daughter of iconic musical performers César Camargo Mariano and Elis Regina, she became a professional singer with the release of an eponymous debut album that went to number three on Billboard's World Albums Chart in 2004. It was accompanied by a concert DVD and together they earned her Latin Grammy Awards including Best New Artist. Her 2011 album 'Elo' peaked at number ten on the World Albums Chart and in 2012 she began to focus on the samba with hit albums in Brazil such as 'Coração a Batucar' and live albums 'Coração a Batucar: Edição Especial' and 'O Samba Em Mim: Ao Vivo Na Lap' (2016).
