Mariah

Mariah Angelique Pérez (August 7, 1999), better known as Mariah or Mariah Angeliq, is an American urban artist from Miami, Florida. Born into a family of Latino heritage, she began writing music at the age of 16 and fled her home to pursue a career in music. While she was trying to get her foot in the door in the music industry, Mariah crossed paths with reggaeton producer Nely who initially took her under his wing and encouraged her to sing in Spanish. After signing with Universal Music Group in 2018, she quickly made her official debut with the single “Blah.” In 2020, Mariah released the EP Normal, which earned her nominations at the Lo Nuestro Awards and Premios Juventud in the categories of Female Breakthrough Artist and The New Generation (Female), respectively. A year later, she featured on Karol G’s hit single “El Makinon” and teamed up with singers Bad Gyal and María Becerra for the track “Bobo,” a summery reggaeton track that was popular not only in the US but also in Spain, where it reached Number 41.
