Born in Mozambique in 1973, Portuguese singer Mariza (Mariza dos Reis Nunes) is undoubtedly one of the most worthy heirs to the "Rainha do fado" Amália Rodrigues. She captivates with her stage presence, yet cultivates an atypical image for this style. But it's her sublime voice that has won her international success, unrivalled by her peers, with her albums Fado em Mim (2001), Transparente (2005) and Terra (2008), all of which have been praised by fans of the genre. In 2011, the classic Fado Tradicional was released to rave reviews. After a long silence from the singer, it is followed four years later by Mundo.
