Born on May 24, 1967 in Montreal, Canada, Matt Laurent is a Quebec folk singer. In 1992, he released his first solo album, Entre le Jour Et la Nuit , followed by his second, Longue Avenue , in 1997. In November 1998, he took on the role of Quasimodo in the musical Notre Dame de Paris . In 2001, he released his third career album, Ici Ou Ailleurs . From 2001 to 2010, he played several roles in musicals, including Dracula - Entre l'Amour Et la Mort, Le Petit Prince and Roméo Et Juliette . He is also arranger and producer for several artists, including Andrée Watters and Sylvain Cossette. In 2010, he launched the group Lucky Uke, whose mandate is to give a second life to old hits from the 1980s. Their first single " Cum On Feel the Noize " became one of the English-language hits of summer 2010 in Quebec. In September 2014, they released a self-titled album. The first single " On va s'parler d'amour " spends over 11 weeks at number one on the Quebec radio charts. Back in Quebec in 2016, after several concerts in Asia, Europe and Russia, he launched the single " J'écris love ", which climbed to pole position on Quebec pop radio. His fifth solo album follows the same year, entitled Comme le Beau Temps . In spring 2017, he presents a new song, " Belle journée ", produced by Jack Johnson's producer. In 2018, he performs at numerous festivals in Quebec, in addition to launching a new song, " C'est juste de l'amour qu'il nous faut ". In summer 2019, he launches the song " So Easy " and in summer 2020, the piece " Voleurs de bijoux ".
