Jean-Marc Couture

Born on July 1, 1990 in Val-d'Amours (Canada), Jean-Marc Couture is an Acadian country and rock singer. At the age of 9, he won the La Voix d'Or contest. In 2002, he enrolled in guitar lessons. At the age of 16, his guitar teacher encouraged him to study music in Quebec City. Parallel to his studies, he sings in the city's bars. In 2012, he took part in the Quebec edition of Star Académie, becoming the season's grand prize winner. He launched his debut album on May 21, 2013, entitled Si Tel Est Ton Désir . The title track hits number one for 10 weeks on the Quebec radio airwaves, in addition to the songs " Je suis ailleurs " and " Toi qui me fait vivre ", which reach number five and number twenty-two respectively on the radio charts. On June 15, 2013, he presents his first solo show at the Francofolies de Montréal. Jean-Marc Couture opens for Céline Dion on the Plains of Abraham on July 27 of the same year. In 2014, he formed the group Les Gars du Nord with Danny Boudreau, Maxime McGraw and Wilfred Le Bouthillier. In June 2016, he released the single " Minuit ", which was a hit on French-language radio stations in Quebec and New Brunswick. In October 2017, he released his second solo album, Cabanon . In 2021 and 2022, he hosts the homecoming show on Restigouche radio in New Brunswick. In 2022, he leaves Les Gars du Nord to become guitarist with La Chicane, following the departure of Dany Bédar.
