MC Jacaré, the stage name of Pedro Henrique Mendes Mesquita, is a Brazilian funk artist and producer from Goiânia, born in 2003. Growing up in the Urias Magalhães neighborhood, he developed a love for music early on, learning guitar and experimenting with beats on an old computer. His career began with online releases during his teenage years, but he gained significant attention in 2019 with tracks like "Pra Melhorar Meu Dia" and "Implorou pra Sentar," which showcased his knack for blending funk with humor and regional flair. National fame arrived in 2020 with the viral hit "Comprei um Lança," inspired by Rita Lee's "Lança Perfume," followed by a forró-infused version featuring Xand Avião. The success of "Senta no Fazendeiro" further cemented his place in the funk scene. In 2021, Jacaré released his debut EP, Sempre Fui Assim, under Som Livre, incorporating funk proibidão influences. His 2022 single "Pequi de Goiás" and the electro-funk hit "Vento Forte" marked a return to the national charts, solidifying his reputation as a dynamic and innovative artist in Brazil's funk landscape. 2024 saw the release of his debut album Eletrofunk Raíz, which featured contributions from Luan Pereira, Hungria, MC Kevin O Chris, DJ TF, and DJ Kaio MPC.
