Canadian country singer Meghan Patrick was born in Bowmanville, Ontario, on March 25, 1987. Starting her musical career as the lead singer of the bluegrass group The Stone Sparrows, Meghan Patrick branched out on her own in 2016, signing for Warner Music Canada and releasing her debut album Grace & Grit. She learned how to play the guitar and banjo as a child and found this helped her in her songwriting. She has written songs both for herself and other artists and was nominated for Songwriter of the Year at the Canadian Country Music Association Awards in 2016 for her song "Bow Chicka Wow Wow". Grace and Grit reached number 26 in the Canadian Country Albums Chart, and included singles "Bow Chicka Wow Wow", "Grace & Grit" and "Still Loving You" featuring Joe Nichols. The latter was the highest-charting at number ten in the Canadian Country Singles Chart, although all three made the top 20. Also taken from the same album, "Be Country with Me" was released in 2017. Patrick released her second album Country Music Made Me Do It in 2018, from which the title track reached number five in the Country Music Singles Chart in 2017, and the tracks "The Bad Guy" and "Walls Come Down" followed in 2018, with "Walls Come Down" reaching number one. In 2019, she released the EP Wild as Me alongside the title track. Her third album Heart on My Glass was issued in 2021 with the hits "My First Car", "Never Giving Up on You" and "Cool About It", followed by the EP Greatest Show on Dirt and its title-track in 2023. That year saw her first appearance on the Grand Ole Opry, on April 11, 2023. The following year saw the release of the album Golden Child, accompanied by its title-track.
