Melissa Nkonda first came to negative attention for a vulgar outfit during her appearance on La Nouvelle Star in 2009. Paradoxically, this failure motivated her to seek recognition solely for her vocal and artistic qualities. It was through another selection by producer Valéry Zeitoun that Melissa Nkonda finally resurfaced. Her track "Nouveaux Horizons " soon became a radio darling and a logical entry in the SNEP charts. The album Nouveaux Horizonsis released in May 2011 and features a duet with VV Brown.
