Melissa Ouimet was born in Saint-Albert, Ontario (Canada) in 1986. Passionate about music from an early age, she knew from the age of 6 that she wanted to spend her life on stage. However, it wasn't until 2003, when she took part in the Ontario Pop competition, that something clicked and she had the confidence to launch her musical career. While she continued her studies, in 2006 she joined an all-female rock band called Broken Nails. She then left Canada for another musical experience with the group Sold Out, which performed mainly in Asia. But she returned in 2008, determined to strike out on her own thanks to a grant from the Jeux de la Francophonie and the Fondation franco-ontarienne. She then moved to Montreal, where she perfected her dance, music, singing and acting skills, and occasionally performed with Broken Nails. From 2010 onwards, she performs as an opening act for artists such as Robert Charlebois, Véronic DiCaire, Eric Lapointe, Bobby Bazini, the Porn Flakes, Martin Deschamps and Sylvain Cossette. After unsuccessfully competing on the La Voix talent show in 2015, a self-titled debut album was released in 2016, produced by Gautier Marinof (Marc Dupré, Jérôme Couture, Sophie Pelletier), with the single "Personne ne pourra m'arrêter" winning over radio stations. A new version of the song was released in 2018, in which other voices of French-Canadian song joined her in support of Franco-Ontarians' fight against anti-French measures. In 2019, she took part again in the La Voix talent show, this time with greater success, as she reached the quarter-finals with Marc Dupré's team. In 2020, she releases the single "In Love Again", heralding a new album, while she celebrates the Christmas holidays with "Noël dans la tête", which soon makes a name for itself in the Canadian charts.
