Real name Jean-Philippe Dalpé, Jipé Dalpé was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, on November 11, 1978. He showed an early interest in music, learning several instruments. After studying music, he went on to win several prizes at festivals and accompany numerous artists. He released his first album, Les Préliminaires, in 2008, then took four years to deliver a successor, La Tête en Bois, in 2012. His songs "Qu'est-ce qu'on fait", "Du vent dans les voiles" and "Du bonheur ailleurs" were a big hit, and received extensive radio airplay. After a long tour, Jipé Dalpé returned in 2015 with the EP L'homme Allumette, but his rise was halted by a car accident, which necessitated a break in his career to begin an essential convalescence. He returned in 2019 with a third album, the aptly-named Après le Crash, with a more rock tone. In 2020, he revisits Daniel Bélanger's "Les Temps fous".
