Quebec folk group founded in 1996, made up of Benoît Archambault, Éric Desranleau, Frédéric Giroux, Luc Lemire, Marc-André Paquet, Marie-Hélène Fortin and Stéphane Archambault. In 2000, the band released their first album, Ça Parle Au Diable , and the following year, their second, Entre les Branches . In 2004, the album En Famille was released, and the following year received the Félix award for Contemporary Folk Album of the Year at the ADISQ gala. The song " Dégénération " from this opus reached number one on the Quebec radio charts for 12 weeks. Another single from the album, " Ton Père est un croche ", reaches number two on Quebec radio. In 2006, the band released a live album entitled Tire-Toi une Bûche , which went platinum the following January. In the summer of 2007, Mes Aïeux played a number of festivals across Europe, including the Francofolies de Spa in Belgium. In the autumn of the same year, it wins four Félix awards at the ADISQ gala. In 2008, as part of Quebec City's 400th anniversary celebrations, the group sings the song " Dégénération " on the Plains of Abraham, accompanied by Céline Dion. In October, they launch their fifth album, La Ligne Orange. The song " Le Déni de l'évidence " tops the radio charts for four weeks. In 2009, the band wins three Félix awards at the ADISQ gala, for record cover of the year, band of the year and contemporary folk album of the year. In January 2011, Éric Desranleau decided to devote himself full-time to his new projects and left the group. In March 2012, the band released their sixth album, À l'Aube du Printemps . After a tour following this opus, the band takes a break and each member works on their personal projects. In December 2017, Mes Aïeux returned to the stage for a New Year's Eve show in Montreal. In summer 2019, the band embarks on a 10-city tour of Quebec.
