Michael Peterson is a Grammy-nominated country music singer-songwriter who has scored a number of popular hits for the genre. Born in Tucson, Arizona on August 7, 1959 and raised in Washington state, Peterson got his start in country music after setting up home in its beating heart, Nashville. He began working with other artists including DeWayne Blackwell, Josh Leo and Robert Ellis Orrall before releasing his first solo single. 1997's “Drink, Swear, Steal and Lie” was the lead single on Peterson's debut self-titled album and peaked at Number 3 on the Billboard country charts. The album spawned four more popular Top 40 country singles, including chart-topper "From Here To Eternity" and follow-up, Being Human, which arrived in 1999. Peterson's third album, Modern Man, was released in 2004 and a string of subsequent albums surfaced over the next decade, including 2017 compilation LP Drink, Swear, Steal & Lie.
