Milo J, born Camilo Joaquín Villarruel on October 25, 2006, in Morón, Buenos Aires, Argentina, is one of the leading exponents in the Argentine urban music scene. He started exploring his musical talents at a young age, writing songs with his sister at 11 and participating in freestyle competitions. Milo J's music career took off in late 2021 as part of BajoWest, a collective of independent urban artists in Buenos Aires. He began uploading his early tracks like "Tus Vueltas," "Cuando Estas Vos," and "Tu Paz" to his video-sharing channel. In 2022, his song "Milagrosa" went viral on social media, marking a significant turning point in his career and helping him gain wider recognition. In early 2023, Milo J released "Rara Vez" in collaboration with producer Taiu, which became a commercial hit, topping streaming charts in several countries. This success was followed by the release of his debut EP, 511, in April 2023. Milo J also gained attention as a performer at the third edition of La Velada del Año, an amateur boxing event. Later in 2023, he released a series of high-profile collaborations, including "Dispara ***" with Nicki Nicole, and "Milo J: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 57" with Bizarrap, which charted internationally. The success of his collaboration with Bizarrap was accompanied by the release of a five-track EP, En Dormir Sin Madrid. Milo J's work earned him a nomination for Best Rap/Hip Hop Song at the 24th Annual Latin Grammy Awards for "Dispara ***." He capped off the year by releasing his debut studio album, 111, which featured collaborations with artists like Yami Safdie, Yahritza y Su Esencia, Peso Pluma, and Nicki Nicole. The album peaked at number 23 on the Spanish charts and was followed by 166 (2024), an album that found him reconnecting with his hip-hop and trap roots that included cameos by Morad and Kelo Ke.
