One of the leading exponents of Argentina’s booming trap scene, the rapper and freestyler known as Trueno was born Mateo Palacios Corazzina in the neighborhood of La Boca on March 25, 2002. His music career got off to an auspicious start after winning ACDP Zoo Juniors tournament at age 14. In 2017, Trueno won the Crossing of Champions freestyle championship and made his official debut with the singles "K.I.N.G." and "En la Ola." Even though he stayed active for the most part of 2018 with singles like "Rain" and "La Salamandra," it wasn’t until 2019 that he jumped into the spotlight with the single "Trueno: Bzrp Freestyle Sessions Vol. 6," a collaboration with producer Bizarrap that quickly racked up millions of streams and helped put his name on the map. Hot on the heels of his victory at Red Bull’s Batalla de Gallos in 2019, Trueno released his official studio debut Atrevido in 2020. The album contained the single "Mamichula," a joint effort with then-girlfriend Nicki Nicole and Bizarrap that went to number 1 in both Argentina and Spain. In 2021, Trueno teamed up with fellow trap artist Duki and released the single "Panamá," which also enjoyed great success on the other side of the Atlantic, reaching number 43 on Promusicae’s charts. The track was featured in Trueno's second studio album, 2022's Bien o Mal, an album inspired by Argentine culture that also included collaborations with Nathy Peluso ("Argentina"), Víctor Heredia ("Tierra Zanta"), and J Balvin ("Un Paso"). Bien o Mal peaked at number 23 on the Spanish charts and won Album of the Year at the Premios Gardel in 2023. Later that year, he followed this success with a live EP titled Bien o Mal en Vivo. In 2024, Trueno became the first rapper to perform at the Viña del Mar Festival and released his third full-length studio album, El Último Baile, preceded by the singles "Tranky Funky," "Ohh Baby," and "The Roof Is on Fire."
