Missill

Émilie Talieu was a French DJ and producer that rose to prominence thanks to her kaleidoscopic blend of rock, dancehall, and hip-hop. Born in 1980, she began her career as a graffiti artist in the '90s and made her debut behind the turntables in the early aughts, producing collaborations with artists like Horace Andy, Vitalic, and Alain Bashung. Her musical style is heavily inspired by Japanese culture, an influence that can be clearly heard in releases such as the Glitch EP (2008), Targets (2008), and Kawaii (2010), as well as in singles like "Illegal Horny," and "Invincible." Lova Killa, her last studio recording, appeared in 2013. Following a long battle with cancer, the artist known as Missill passed away on June 14, 2022, at the age of 42.
