Neaera

Neaera is a metalcore band from Germany founded in 2003. The first line-up consisted of Benny Hilleke (vocals), Tobias Buck (guitar), Benjamin Donath (bass) and Sebastian Heldt (drums). In the early days, the band performed under the name The Ninth Gate. A short time later, another guitarist, Stefan Keller, joins the band. In 2004, they signed with Metal Blade Records. At the same time, they change their band name to Neaera. Their debut album, The Rising Tide of Oblivion, is released at the beginning of 2005. Like its successor, Let the Tempest Come (2006), it was not well received in the charts. It is only with the third studio album Armamentarium that the band makes its first chart entry in Germany at number 65. Three more albums followed with Omnicide - Creation Unleashed (2009), Forging the Eclipse (2010) and Ours Is the Storm (2013). Completely surprisingly, Neaera announced the end of the band in 2015. In 2018, the band reunited for a few live performances. A year later, they officially return to the stage. The self-titled album Neaera is released in 2020. The album reaches number 8 in the German Top 10 and also enters the charts in Austria (number 58) and Switzerland (number 55). After a short creative break, the band returned in summer 2024 with the album All Is Dust. The longplayer climbs to number 18 in Germany.
