Born Nívea da Costa Pinto Soares on July 25, 1976 in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, the Brazilian Christian singer, songwriter, worship pastor, writer and television presenter known as Nívea Soares began singing with her family's church choir as a child before rising to fame as a backing vocalist for Brazilian contemporary Christian band Diante do Trono in 1998. As part of the ministry of Lagoinha Church in Belo Horizonte, and steered by singer Ana Paula Valadão, Diante do Trono released their debut self-titled album in 1998, with Nívea Soares branching out as a solo artist in 2003. The release of her debut solo album, Reina Sobre Mim, was met with praise and paved the way for her second release, Enche-me de Ti, two years later. She went on to release eight more gospel-led albums, including 2012's Glória e Honra –considered her most successful work, spawning the popular hit "Em Tua Presença" – and Canção da Eternidade with Antônio Cirilo and David Quinlan in 2014, having also begun her reign on television program Lugar Secreto the previous year, as well as Reino de Justiça in 2016. 2019 marked the arrival of her album Jesus.
