Emerging from Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Norteños de Ojinaga began their musical journey in 1989 as Norteñitos de Ojinaga. Their debut album, Ese Arbolito, featured notable tracks like "María Bonita" and "Ese Arbolito." The following year, they released Bonita, with the standout title track, and later Al Rojo Vivo, which included "Los Columpios." In 1991, their fourth album, "Se Me Derrumba El Alma," showcased their evolving artistry with songs such as the title track and "Jambalaya." By 1993, La Resbalosa propelled them to new audiences, leading to performances across various U.S. states. A significant transformation occurred in 1995 when they adopted the name Norteños de Ojinaga and released Con Sabor a Norte under Fonovisa, featuring "Cuando Se Aman Dos" and "Los Tres de la Sierra," the latter inspiring a film adaptation. The late 1990s and early 2000s saw a string of successful albums, including Más Furiosos (1996), Corridos Pa’ Mi Pueblo (1997), and Prisionero de Tus Ojos (1998), each solidifying their presence in the norteña genre. Their 30th anniversary in 2019 was marked by the collaborative album 30 Aniversario – Duetos, featuring artists like Daniel Esquivel of Los Rieleros del Norte and Polo Urias. Continuing their prolific output, they released En Vivo 2022 in 2023, capturing the energy of their live performances. Later that year, Norteños de Ojinaga dropped the album Quiero Que Vuelvas, followed by Morir Sin Tu Amor in 2024. "Llegaste Para Quedarte," the group's first single of 2025, reached number 35 on the Regional Mexican Airplay chart.
