Omari Ishmael Grandberry, whose stage name is Omarion, is an American R&B singer whose style incorporates hip-hop, pop, and R&B. Born on November 12, 1984, in the Los Angeles suburb of Inglewood, he acted in television commercials as a child and continued as a screen actor as his musical career took off when he joined the boy band B2K in 1999. The band had considerable success but broke up in 2004. Omarion starred in Christopher B. Stokes' 2004 feature film You Got Served and appeared on American TV in series such as Cuts (2005), Ugly Betty (2008), and Let's Stay Together (2012). His Grammy Award-nominated 2005 debut solo album O and follow-up 21 (2007) topped the Billboard 200 and the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart, Face Off (2007) topped the Rap Albums Chart and went to number 2 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Chart and number 11 on the 200. Ollusion (2010) reached number 7 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Chart and number 19 on the 200 and Sex Playlist went to number 2 on the Top R&B Albums Chart, peaked at number 5 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Chart and number 49 on the 200. He has had 16 singles on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart with three in the Top 10 including "Ice Box" (2007) and "Post to Be" (2015). He released his sixth album, Reasons, in July 2017. Over the following years, Omarion rejoined B2K for a reunion tour, participated in the reality show The Masked Singer, and unveiled the five-part docuseries Omega: The Gift and the Curse. Preceded by the single "Serious," which debuted at number 30 on the Adult R&B charts in the US, his album Full Circle: Sonic Book 1 saw the light in 2023.
