Israeli composer and pianist born on May 15, 1982, Omer Klein plays modern jazz tinged with traditional Middle Eastern influences. A native of Netanja, he studied music at the conservatory there before leaving for the United States in 2005 to study with Danilo PĂ©rez at the New England Conservatory, then in New York. His exposure to musicians and studios led to the recording of his first album, Duet (2006), with bassist Haggai Cohen-Milo. The following year, in trio with drummer Ziv Ravitz, he signed Introducing Omer Klein, followed two years later by Heart Beats, on the Small Records label. After Rockets on the Balcony (2010), for John Zorn's Tzadik label, the trio continued with the albums To The Unknown (2013), Fearless Friday (2015) and Sleepwalkers (2017).
