Founded in 2012, Ondatrópica is a musical project which brings together many Columbian artists under the leadership of British producer Will Holland and his friend and Columbian musician Mario Galeano. British multi-instrumentalist, producer, and DJ Will Holland is better known by his stage name Quantic. He also works under other various pseudonyms such as Quantic Soul Orchestra, The Limp Twins, and Flowering Inferno. Some of his most critically successful releases are his collaborations with vocalist Alice Russell. He moved to Colombia to expand upon his love for Latin music (salsa, cumbia, bossa nova, etc.). He set up his studio there and began using local musicians to make his music sound and feel more authentic. In 2012 Holland joined forces with Mario Galeano and formed Ondatrópica. The fluid ensemble could feature anywhere from 10 to 40 musicians, depending on the live or recording project. Ondatrópica released their self-titled debut album in 2012. Although Will Holland moved to New York in 2014, he continued his working relationship with Maria Galeano, recording their next album in several locations. The second album, Baile Bucanero, was released in 2017.
