ORβIT is a Japanese-South Korean boy band formed in 2020 through the survival reality show Produce 101 Japan, a spin-off of the original Korean program Produce 101. Consisting of former HALO members Younghoon, Heecho, and Yoondong, as well as of trainees June, Tomo, Shunya, and Yugo, the group made its debut soon after with the single "Lazurite"(2020) featured in their studio debut 00. Released in late 2020 via Present Label, 00 peaked at Number 3 on both the Oricon Albums Chart and the Japanese Billboard 200, selling over 30,000 physical copies. Their success continued in 2021 with the release of the extended play Enchant, which reached Number 2 on the Oricon charts thanks to the popularity of singles such as "Dionaea"(2021) and "Blind"(2021) Later that year, ORβIT cracked the Top 5 once again with a second EP titled Alter Ego. In 2022, Younghoon and Heecho left to comply with their mandatory military service while the rest of the members worked on new music. Their single "I can't breathe"(2023) was released in December of that year, reaching Number 14 on the Oricon Top 50 chart. It was followed by an EP of the same name in March 2023. Their 3rd EP Ran (2024) is one of their notable releases, showcasing their signature sound that blends elements from both Japanese and Korean pop music influences.
