Ours

Known by his stage name Ours, author, composer, musician and performer Charles Souchon is the second son of Alain Souchon and the younger brother of Pierre Souchon, who also took a musical path. Born in Boulogne-Billancourt in 1978, he studied graphic design and created his father's first website, before devoting himself to songwriting. In keeping with his melodic lineage, with carefully crafted lyrics and arrangements, and his characteristically intimate style, Ours adopts this pseudonym for his wild, taciturn side. El's debut album, Mi, released in 2007, reveals a sensitive writing style tinged with humor and a folk-pop musical vein, with the help of assertive musicians. In 2011, El broadens his palette with richer arrangements and the presence of Lily Allen on "22". Between other collaborations with Zazie, Rose, Gaëtan Roussel or Lily Wood & the Prick, Ours also works as a family with his father and Laurent Voulzy, and takes part in the activities of the charity troupe Les Enfoirés. In 2017, he returned with the joyful, melodic album Pops, surrounded on the console by Alex Gopher, penning by Pauline Croze on "Au cinéma", music by Joseph Chedid and Romain Preuss and on the mic by Scotch & Sofa. The following year saw the release of Mitsouko, featuring duets with -M-, Antoine Chance and Cécile Hercule. This tribute to the Rita Mitsouko group was followed in 2025 by Le Spleen d'Une Vie Sublime, featuring the family trio "À quoi tu penses?".
