Pape Diouf

Pape Cheikh Diouf, better known by his stage name Pape Diouf, was born in 1973 in Dakar, the capital of Senegal. Initially training to become a plumber, he eventually turned to music, joining the mbalax group Lemzo Diamono at the age of 22. After the group disbanded in 1998, he went solo, releasing a number of albums, from Partir in 2004 to Écoutez! in 2022, including Jotna in 2008, Casse Casse in 2012, Ràkkaaju in 2014, Enjoy in 2018 and Far West Africa in 2020. With the help of the group he founded and which accompanies him, Génération Consciente, he has become one of West Africa's most popular artists, even winning two Senegal Music Awards in 2009.
