Papooz

Papooz is a Parisian duo made up of singers and guitarists Ulysse Cottin and Armand Pénicaut, two friends influenced by their parents' records by The Beach Boys and The Velvet Underground. The duo first made a name for themselves opening for artists such as Matthieu Chédid, Isaac Delusion and The Neighbourhood. The duo's airy indie pop-rock, cradled mostly by strings and two voices that complement each other seamlessly, became a firm fixture on the French music scene. A debut EP saw the light of day in early 2015, buoyed by the singles "Ulysses and the Sea" and "Ann Wants To Dance". which managed to seduce a wider audience. The latter was still present when, a year later, Papooz delivered their first proper album, Green Juice, which saw the two friends explore the territories of pop and folk, as well as jazz and British rock. On its release in June 2016, Green Juice made its way into the French album chart.
