Born Parampara Thakur in New Delhi, India on February 28, 1992, Parampara Tandon is a playback singer and songwriter best known as being a final contestant on the first season of The Voice India and as one-half of songwriting duo Satchet-Parampara. The daughter of a professional singer, her parents encouraged her decision to pursue music as a career. Parampara Thakur began performing at a young age, singing jingles for the Government of Rajasthan by the time she was 13. She also performed at school functions and television. She graduated from Lady Shri Ram College and eventually successfully auditioned for the first season of The Voice India in 2015. There, she met Satchet Tandon, and they started a professional relationship in 2016, writing two songs for the 2017 film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. Their Bollywood popularity took off and, together and separately, they performed and / or wrote songs for films such as 2019’s Kabir Singh (“Bekhayali”), 2019’s Pal Pal Dil Ke Pass (the title track), 2020’s Street Dancer 3D (“Muqabla”), 2021’s Shiddat (“Jug Jug Jeeve”) and 2022’s Jersey (“Maiyya Mainu [Female]”). Satchet Tandon and Parampara Thakur were married in 2020.
