Pete & Bas are a UK rap duo known for their raw, gritty, and unapologetic approach to the UK grime and drill scenes. Consisting of two rappers in their 70s, who go by the stage names Timothy (Tim) Mole and (Joe (Bong) Ferret, the duo have become an internet sensation for their unexpected and fearless foray into a genre traditionally dominated by much younger artists. Their unique blend of old-school charisma, rapid-fire delivery, and streetwise wisdom has earned them a loyal following and made them viral stars. Pete & Bas first garnered attention in 2017 when they began sharing their music on social media, quickly becoming known for their bold lyrics and undeniable chemistry and releasing debut single "Shut Ya Mouth." Their tracks often feature hard-hitting beats, witty wordplay, and an air of rebellion, while their stories reflect their rich life experiences, ranging from tales of their youth to their cheeky commentary on modern-day issues. Other tracks have since followed, including "Plugged In" with Fumez the Engineer in 2021 and "Sindhu Sesh" in 2022. In 2024, they released their debut album Mugshot, which featured a guest appearance from US rap superstar T-Pain on "T Pain (Remix)."
