Pierre Aviat - aka Avia - is a composer specializing in sound illustration and film music, with scores for fashion shows and commercials. Author of the soundtrack to Denys Arcand's film Les Invasions barbares (2003), he continued in this vein with the feature films Pour aller au ciel il faut mourir (2006), Orpailleur (2009), Chaque jour est une fête and Le Roman de ma femme (2010), Flapping in the Middle of Nowhere (2014) and The Digger (2015). Meanwhile, under the pseudonym Avia, he recorded the electro-jazz EP All My Jazz (2000) and the album I See That Now ... (2002), infused with drum & bass. In 2016, he composed the music for Thierry Demazière and Alban Teurlai's documentary Relève: histoire d'une création, about the work of choreographer Benjamin Millepied at the Paris Opera.
