Saxophonist Pierrick Pédron (b. Saint-Brieuc, 1969) first appeared on the scene in 1994, and released his first album as a leader, Cherokee, in 2001. Accompanying Sinclair and brothers Lionel and Stéphane Belmondo, he has formed several groups and recorded albums as a sextet(Classical Faces, 2004), quartet(Deep in a Dream, 2005) or duo (with Michel Graillier and then Greg Houben). Recorded on the heels ofOmry (2009), the critically acclaimed album Cheerleaders (2011) is a crowning achievement. The following year saw the release of a tribute to Thelonious Monk, Kubic's Monk, followed in 2014 by a rereading of The Cure's repertoire in Kubic's Cure. With his loyal arranger Vincent Artaud, he then explores the funk and rock facets of jazz in And The (2016).
