Polish-born tenor Piotr Beczala (b. 1966) has established himself on the international opera scene with his performances in Mozart's Don Giovanni, Richard Strauss's The Knight of the Rose and Verdi's Rigoletto . After his debut at the Zurich Opera, to which he remains loyal, he was successively invited to London's Covent Garden in 2004, then to La Scala in Milan and the Metropolitan Opera in New York in 2006, where he returns frequently. His numerous appearances on disc and DVD include the Salut! recital (2008), Slavic Opera Arias (2011) and Heart's Delight (2013), as well as a dozen opera performances. After a remarkable performance at the July 14, 2014 show at the Eiffel Tower, the tenor pays tribute to the French repertoire in The French Collection (2015).
