The US rapper Marcus Cooper (stage name Pleasure P) grew up in Carver Ranches, Florida and rose to prominence as a member of the successful R&B and hip-hop band Pretty Ricky. He left the band in 2007 to pursue a solo career and released his debut single 'Did You Wrong' the following year. In 2008 he released his critically-acclaimed debut album 'The Introduction of Marcus Cooper' which peaked at number ten on the Billboard 200 and reached number two in the Hip-Hop Album charts and received two Grammy Award nominations. Despite this early interest in his work and a subsequent change of record company, Cooper has failed to repeat the success of his debut album. His much-publicised second album 'The King of Romance' failed to materialise and the artist has since concentrated on a series of collaborations with other artists such as Flo Rida, Tearria Mari, and Tyga.
