Plini

Born in Sydney in 1992, Australian guitar virtuoso Plini Roessler-Holgate is known for both his dexterity with the instrument and his melodic sensibilities. Though he’s mostly associated with the prog rock scene, his music draws influence from a whole array of styles such as heavy metal, math rock, and jazz. After issuing the EP Pastures (2011) under the pseudonym Halcyon, Roessler-Holgate started using his first name to record and release music while studying architecture in college. Other Things, his self-produced debut EP as Plini, saw the light in 2013 and was followed closely by another EP entitled Sweet Nothings, released that same year. The End of Everything, the third instalment in his EP trilogy, dropped in 2015 and paved the way for Handmade Cities, his official studio debut. Released in 2016, the album garnered praises from the likes of Steve Vai and earned Roessler-Holgate the title of Best Prog Guitarist of 2017 according to the website MusicRadar. In the following years, he returned with the EP Sunhead (2018), the single "Birds / Surfers"(2020), and delivered Impulse Voices (2020), his third album.
