Rashmeet Kaur

Rashmeet Kaur is a Bollywood vocalist known for her modern-day remakes of classic Punjabi folk songs. She was born in Punjab, India, on March 8, 1994, and spent most of her childhood in Delhi. Trained in the classical style of Sikh music, she began learning the harmonium at six years old and eventually enrolled at Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, a music school in New Delhi. Rashmeet Kaur's vocal talents earned her a spot on the televised singing competition Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, where she competed during the show's 2012 season. Three years later, she participated in the Pakistani singing competition Asia's Singing Superstar, ultimately finishing in the Top 6. She received a Mirchi Music Award for "Upcoming Female Voice of the Year" in 2017, the same year that her debut single "Heer" was released. Kaur joined the cast of yet another reality TV singing competition, The Remix, in 2018 and finished in first place. She appeared on numerous compilation albums released by the TV show that year and reached a new level of renown in 2020, when "Jadi Buti" — her duet with Major Lazer and Nucleya — went viral, eventually earning more than 10 million streams on Spotify alone. Her solo album Manj Muhabbat Teri was released that same year, followed by the Musafir EP in 2021 and a number of appearances on Bollywood soundtracks. She continued releasing standalone singles during the subsequent years, including 2023's "Bing Bing Boo!"
