Raúl Paz

Raul Paz has become the most French of Cuban artists. Born in San Luis in 1969, he grew up to the sound of Cuban music and rock, after studying classical music. Moving to Paris in 1996, he frequented the local Latin scene and met the head of the RMM label, who enabled him to record his first album, Cuba Libre (1999). Signed by Naïve after an international tour, he released Mulata in 2003, winning over French audiences with his Cuban rhythms mixed with pop and rock influences. Touring regularly, he captivates audiences with his spontaneity and natural availability. In 2006, En Casa featured a more acoustic repertoire, while En Vivo!, released on CD and DVD in 2007, showed Raul Paz's warmth on stage. In 2010, Havanization amply demonstrates Raul Paz's perfect blend of modernity and tradition. He continues this urban Cuban musical tradition in 2014 with Ven Ven. After writing a song for Florent Pagny in 2009, he co-wrote the songs for the album Habana, released in 2016. He withdrew from the scene for several years, before making his comeback with the album El Puente (2021), followed by the singles "Asi No" and "Te Sorprendera", included in the next Guajiro Chic (2025).
