Singer-songwriter Role Model was born Tucker Pillsbury in Cape Elizabeth, Maine on May 15, 1977. Although his first major musical influence was Elvis Presley, his earliest recordings focused on rap music. He issued his first mixtape, Since When, under the name Tucker in 2016 and changed his stage name to Dillis later that year by the time he released his debut rap album, Moth. Moving away from rap music, he adapted the stage name Role Model and released his debut pop EP, Arizona in the Summer, at the end of 2017. He had begun to build a following online due to his ‘bedroom pop’ / DIY recordings and caught the attention of rapper Mac Miller, who invited him to collaborate. Role Model signed to Interscope Records and issued the single “Play the Part.” After collaborating with Julia Michaels on her Inner Monologue Part 2 EP, he issued his second EP, Oh, How Perfect (2019). After the release of his third EP, 2020’s Our Little Angel, Role Model released the singles “Blind,” “Forever&More,” “Death Wish,” “If Jesus Saves, She’s My Type,” and “NeverLetYouGo.” He released his long-awaited debut album, Rx, in 2022. Two years later, Role Model released his sophomore album, Kansas Anymore, which included the singles “Oh, Gemini” and “Deeply Still in Love.”
