Ronnie Bird

Ronnie Bird irresistibly evokes the early days of rock music in France, when budding stars adopted Anglicized stage names. Born in Boulogne-sur-Seine on April 24, 1946, Ronald Mehu prefers to become Ronnie Bird. Unlike others who imitate Elvis Presley or Gene Vincent, his role models are Buddy Holly and the English Mods. Rather than take the easy way out and try his hand at the twist, he persevered. Dejected by his lack of success, he abandoned his career in 1969.
