Roomful of Teeth is a vocal ensemble from Williamstown, Massachusetts, USA, founded in 2009 by Brad Wells. The group studied various singing styles at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (Mass MoCA) with world-class teachers and performers, which led to their desire to explore the limits of the human voice through their music. They released their studio debut, Roomful of Teeth, in 2012. The album was nominated for three Grammy Awards, winning Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance. The following year, one of Roomful of Teeth's members, Caroline Shaw, received the Pulitzer Prize for Music for her composition "Partita for 8 Voices," which was featured on the group's album. This was followed by the streaming exclusive EP version of the piece. The group released their second album, Render, in 2016. Render included the work of various composers as well as members of the group. Over the course of their career, Roomful of Teeth has conducted various vocal technique workshops, classes, and concerts at educational institutions across the United States. They released their third album, 3, in 2019. They collaborated extensively on the soundtrack for the 2022 medieval comedy film Catherine Called Birdy and, in 2023, released the album Rough Magic.
