Born Felix Clary Weatherall (June 1993) in Colchester, Essex, the British electronic producer known as Ross from Friends carved a niche for himself among the coterie of lo-fi house-heads who set the electronic music world alight during the '10s. After cutting his teeth in several different projects, he set his sights on the Ross from Friends moniker and posted his inaugural release, "Talk to Me You'll Understand", to SoundCloud in 2015. He continued to unwittingly fly the flag for lo-fi house across a handful of EPs – including his Aphelion (2018) EP debut for Brainfeeder – until his debut full-length, Family Portrait, emerged in 2018 on Flying Lotus's Brainfeeder label, propelling his career towards new heights of recognition. He kept this going on his next release for Brainfeeder, a three-track EP titled Epiphany (2019), with artwork designed by the professional skateboarder Chad Muska. A remix of Flume's "Let You Know" featuring London Grammar arrived in 2019 and in 2021, a one-off single, "Burner", whet the appetite for his second full-length Tread, which saw him step outside the confines of lo-fi house to embrace a plethora of styles including trip-hop.
