Sabrina Setlur is a German rapper, songwriter and actress. She initially used the pseudonym Schwester S, approaching Thomas Hoffman, the owner of record label 3p, with her cover version of Dr Dre's 'Nuthin' But a 'G' Thang' in 1993 to promote her work. As a result of this, she was invited to feature on the Rödeheim Hartreim Project single 'Wenn Es Nicht Hart Ist' in 1993. She released her debut album 'S ist Soweit' as Schwester S in 1993, and from this album, her breakthrough single 'Ja Klar' (1995), produced by Moses Pelham, was released in 1995. The album reached number eleven on the German Albums Chart. Following her debut album, Setlur reverted back to her real name for her second album release in 1995, 'Die Neue S-Klasse'. This included the single 'Du Liebst Mich Nicht' which was Setlur's biggest hit, reaching number one in the German Singles Chart and making her the first German rapper to have a number one single in the mainstream chart. It also led to her first Echo Music Award for Best National Female Artist in 1996. She went on to win the award on two other occasions, in 1998 and 2000. In 1999, Setlur released her third album, 'Aus Der Sicht und Mit den Worten Von.' and in the same year, she featured on the Faithess track 'Bring My Family Back'. This was followed in 2000 by her making her acting debut in the horror film 'Anatomie', and a top 20 hit for the single 'Alles' from the soundtrack of the same film. The song also featured Xavier Naidoo. In 2003, the album 'Sabs' reached number eleven in the German Albums Chart, and in 2004, Setlur attempted to become the German entry for the Eurovision Song Contest with her single 'Liebe', but was unsuccessful. She released a greatest hits album '10 Jahre Das Beste' in 2005, and her fifth studio album 'Rot' in 2007.
