This project is the work of German new-age composer Claus Zundel, aka The Brave, for whom musical and spiritual awakening involves exploring the music that preceded or marked the 20th century. After returning to the roots of flamenco, he began the Sacred Spirit series in 1995 with Volume 1: Chants and Dances of the Native Americans, an album designed to bring back to light the culture and traditional songs of the American Indians (sold several million copies worldwide), and continued with an exploration of the roots of American jazz(Sacred Spirit, Vol. 8: Jazzy Chill Out) and blues (Sacred Spirit, Vol. 9: Bluesy Chill Out).
