French-Canadian singer-songwriter Sara Dufour was born in Dobeau-Mistassini, Quebec, in 1984. A student at the École nationale de la chanson de Granby, the artist first came to prominence at the Francofolies de Montréal festival, after several years spent composing her own songs. In 2015, she released The Breaker EP, in the bilingual country-pop vein that characterizes her style. The following year, the album Dépanneur Pierrette saw Sara Dufour present her repertoire during a tour of some 100 concerts across French-speaking Canada and Europe. Awarded the Prix de la chanson de l'année at the SOCAN country gala in 2017, the singer and her musicians went on to record a second, untitled album dominated by her humorous lyrics. This album, once again championed on stage, enabled Sara Dufour to expand her audience before winning the Prix André Fortin from SPACQ in 2019. In 2022, the unreleased "La Tourtière à ma grand-mère " enters the Canadian radio charts, reaching number 20.
