Born in Birmingham, England on 23 December 1962 and raised in Montreal, Canada, award-winning hard rock singer, actor, and television personality Sass Jordan was destined for a life in music from an early age. Growing up in a household filled with diverse musical influences, she developed a deep love for rock and blues that would go on to shape her future career. Her powerful voice and charismatic presence quickly set her apart, and she emerged onto the Canadian music scene in the late 1980s with her debut album Tell Somebody, which showcased her gritty, soulful voice and raw rock energy. The LP earned her the Juno Award for Most Promising Female Vocalist in 1989. She followed up with Racine in 1992, a breakthrough album that included hits like "Make You a Believer" and "You Don't Have to Remind Me." Racine solidified her status as one of Canada's leading rock vocalists, earning critical acclaim and commercial success. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Sass Jordan continued to release successful albums, including Rats (1994), Present (1997), and Get What You Give (2006). Her music, characterized by its gritty vocals and hard-hitting rock sound, resonated with fans worldwide. Known for her dynamic live performances, Sass Jordan has toured extensively, sharing stages with rock legends such as Aerosmith, AC/DC, and the Rolling Stones. In addition to her music career, Sass Jordan has made a significant impact in the world of acting. She starred as Janis Joplin in the off-Broadway hit Love, Janis, where her powerful portrayal and vocal prowess brought the rock icon's story to life. Her versatility as an actress has also led to roles in television, including a judge on the popular Canadian show Canadian Idol. She has continued to release albums over the years, including blues-rock efforts Rebel Moon Blues (2020), which reached number five on the Billboard Blues Album Chart and Bitches Blues in 2022, which landed at number 15 on the same chart.
