Satoru Kōsaki

Satoru Kōsaki is a Japanese music composer, producer, and musician. He was born on September 16, 1974, in Toyonaka, Osaka. He first ventured into music playing the trumpet in his junior high school's brass band, developing a keen interest in various music genres. After graduating from Kyoto University, he joined the Namco video game company and started composing music for games including Aqua Rush, Tekken, and Kotoba no Puzzle: Mojipittan. In 2005, Satoru Kōsaki left Namco to join Monaca, founded by Keiichi Okabe. His major breakthrough with Monaca was the soundtrack for the 2006 anime The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. His work, including tracks like "God Knows...," received a large amount of acclaim. In 2007, he composed the soundtrack for the anime series Lucky Star, with the opening theme "Motteke! Sailor Fuku" achieving high chart success and winning the 2007 Radio Kansai Award. 2008 saw the release of the Lucky Star soundtrack, one of his most acclaimed pieces of work. Over the following years, he continued composing and producing memorable pieces such as "Renai Circulation" from the 2009 anime show Bakemonogatari. Satoru Kōsaki's work on the anime Beastars in 2019 and Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song in 2021 have also received much recognition, the latter winning the Best Music Anime award at the 8th Annual Anime Trending Awards.
