Born on 12th February 1957 in Tokyo, Satoshi Takebe is a revered Japanese musician, composer, and multi-instrumentalist known for his production work for leading artists such as Yo Hitoto and Ken Hirai. Often employing traditional Japanese instruments such as the shamisen, koto, and shakuhachi, while incorporating modern orchestral and electronic textures, his innovative output spans multiple genres, including classical, jazz, and electronic music. In addition to his roles presiding over the musical direction of various television shows, he has been part of the Kokua group who have put out collaborative releases such as the Progress album. He has notched up his own records over the years, and in 2023 graced Japan's Top 200 Shazam chart with "L'Été des adieux / La Colline aux coquelicots"
